Lab Techs - Two need for a major steel manufacture in Coshocton
Must be available to work any shift. Must have computer experience, High School Diploma and a clean criminal background
Duties are:
- Accurately and safely collects and prepares stainless steel samples for Metallurgical and Physical testing using computer based equipment when applicable.
- Utilizing a CNC base milling machine mills test samples for standard ASTM tensile specimens.
- Utilizing current Standard Practices and internal test plans, performs the following tests: Hardness, tensile, strain, roping, gloss, colorimeter, surface roughness, Olsen depth/grain size, micrometer gauging, metallography preparation and various corrosion tests.
- Monitors test results as to the acceptability of various ASTM, Customer, and Internal Specifications.
- Enters test data to various software programs including the company business system.
- Safely and accurately measures and mixes chemical compounds and solutions for micro examination etchants and corrosion tests
- Maintains Standard Practices and SPC charting to insure compliance to ASTM and QS 9000 guidelines.
- Performs routine maintenance and monitors Lab equipment preventative maintenance programs.
- Monitors new and existing JSHAs.
- Other related duties as directed by the Lab Supervisor.
